Professional Pool Opening Services in Burlington
Readying your pool for the swimming season involves much more than simply pulling off a cover. After enduring an Ontario winter, your entire system needs a meticulous inspection, setup, and a cautious initial start-up.
Ultimate Pools offers opening solutions for residential properties throughout the Burlington area. Our expert staff is highly trained in the safe reactivation of pumps, filtration setups, saltwater generators, and complex automation so your backyard runs flawlessly from the first day.
We offer two primary pool opening service options in Burlington, with various customized extras to suit your specific pool's conditions and features.
Our Opening Services
Full Pool Opening
Our turn-key seasonal startup spans two business days and is managed by a senior-level technician. This package encompasses everything from the physical removal and deep cleaning of the winter cover and deck area (plus water bags if used), to the extraction of winterizing plugs and a thorough scrubbing of the waterline and coping. We also reassemble and inspect all plumbing, reinstalling your return jets, lighting, and deck hardware.
This option is ideal for homeowners who want everything handled professionally.
Equipment Start-Up Service
Important: Winter cover must be fully removed prior to our arrival.
This service focuses strictly on the mechanical side, including plug removal, system priming, equipment stress-testing, and detailing the waterline and coping.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about pool opening services in Burlington.
What’s included in a full pool opening service?
Our Full Pool Opening includes cover removal and cleaning, installation of fittings and deck equipment, equipment preparation and testing, and pressure washing around the pool area.
What’s the difference between full pool opening and equipment start-up?
Full Pool Opening includes removal and cleaning of the winter cover. Equipment Start-Up is for homeowners who remove the cover themselves and need professional system preparation and testing.
Why can’t you start my pool heater during the opening?
In Ontario, only a licensed gas technician (G1 or G2) or the homeowner is permitted to start or service a gas-fired pool heater. As a pool service company, we’re not licensed to perform gas appliance start-ups.
For safety and proper operation, we recommend having your heater inspected and started each season by a certified gas technician to ensure it’s running efficiently and safely.
We regularly work alongside licensed gas fitters and would be happy to recommend a trusted technician or coordinate scheduling alongside your pool opening.
When should I schedule my pool opening?
We recommend opening your pool at least two weeks prior to when you want to use it. In our experience, most Burlington homeowners open their pools in early to mid-spring. Booking early helps secure preferred dates and reduces the risk of algae growth as temperatures rise.
Do I need to be home during the service?
In most cases, you do not need to be home, provided we have clear access to the pool, equipment area, and an outdoor tap with running water.
What add-ons should I consider for my pool?
Power vacuuming is helpful for pools with heavy debris. Salt cell cleaning is recommended for saltwater systems. If equipment needs replacing, our team can help identify what is needed. We also offer weekly maintenance services throughout the season.
